The My Favorites feature lets you quickly open your most frequently used applications by pinning them to the taskbar, increasing your productivity and efficiency.
Personalized desktop
Customize your desktop to your liking. Whether it's organizing your Apps or changing your home screen wallpaper, ADM gives you the freedom to design the look and feel of your desktop. Furthermore, the "My Favorites" feature lets you pin frequently used applications to the taskbar allowing for easy access.
Refreshed Sign In Page Design
The sign in page now gives you the ability to configure the background and title along with a customized image. Now it's time to get started on designing your very own customized sign in page!
Simplified Management
Seamless system migration
Outgrowing your system? Time for an upgrade? With ASUSTOR NAS, switching to a higher capacity NAS model is a piece of cake. When it's time to move your storage volumes to a new system, simply take out your existing hard drives and then insert them into the new system. That's it. Can't find that song on your NAS that you want to share? Use Searchlight to instantly find that song and send a Share Link to your friend! Developed by ASUSTOR, Searchlight is a rapid search technology that is built into ADM and provides quick and precise searches allowing you to easily find the files that you need. Searchlight also features instant file previewing and fuzzy searches, substantially increasing your efficiency and productivity.
System Notifications
Enjoy peace of mind
Always checking up on your NAS? Worried about your data and other digital assets? ASUSTOR NAS features real-time system event notifications allowing you to enjoy peace of mind knowing that you'll be notified about any major system events. Notifications can be sent via Email, SMS or push notification giving you a variety of ways to instantly stay on top of the latest developments.
Multitasking
True multitasking
Something else need your attention? With true multitasking you can instantly switch to another application and then switch back to the previous one to pick up right where you left off. ADM allows you to simultaneously run different applications all at once while giving you the power to seamlessly switch between them.
Background operation
Sometimes, tasks such as uploading or downloading multimedia may take some time. ADM is able to perform tasks such as these in the background, effectively freeing you up to complete other tasks.
File Sharing
File Explorer
Manage your files
File Explorer comes pre-installed with ADM and can be used to browse and manage the files on your NAS. It is able to display all directories and files found on your storage volumes. No matter if the task is uploading, downloading, moving, copying, compressing, decompressing or ISO file mounting, all of these tasks and more can be done from within File Explorer.
- Thumbnail previews allow you to quickly find the images you need
- Upload files and folders from your computer to your NAS via drag and drop
- Supports high-speed transfers of large files via a web browser
- The My Computer function lets you seamlessly transfer files between your computer and NAS
Web access
File Explorer is also able to facilitate file sharing over the Web. An internet connection and a Web browser are all you need. Users on the NAS simply need to open ADM in their favorite Web browser to begin sharing, uploading and downloading files with File Explorer.
Share Links
Share Links lets you instantly create download links for files that you want to share, allowing you to share files with people who don't have accounts on the NAS. Expiry dates can also be set for each Share Link that you create, allowing for safe and flexible management.When you have multiple files that you wish to share, you can choose to share them via a single Share Link for all the files or via individual Share Links for each individual file.
Task Monitor
File Explorer's Task Monitor helps you to easily monitor the status of uploads and downloads. Task Monitor also breaks through the 2GB file size upload limit found on most web browsers giving you the freedom to upload much larger files.
External Optical Drive Support
After connecting an external optical drive (CD, DVD, Blu-ray) to your NAS via USB, you can use File Explorer to directly access any files that you have backed up to optical media and even transfer files from your optical media to your NAS via drag and drop for future access.
Note:
- This function only provides data access and does not support the audio and video playback of optical media.
- Certain optical drives will require additional power in order to operate properly. If you find that your optical drive is not spinning or reading correctly, please use a USB Y-cable to add additional power.
FTP Explorer
A fast and reliable FTP client
Now you can directly transfer files and browse FTP sites from within the convenience of the ADM desktop with ASUSTOR's FTP Explorer. Enjoy drag and drop file transfers, bandwidth control for uploads and downloads, resuming downloads and more.
Manage multiple FTP sites
FTP Explorer provides users with an FTP site management function that allows users to store and manage information for all their favorite FTP sites. Users need only click on the FTP site of their choice to quickly connect to it. Furthermore, users are also able to enjoy simultaneous file transfers to multiple FTP sites along with bandwidth controls which increase productivity and efficiency.
Support for resuming downloads
With FTP Explorer you will no longer need to worry about restarting file transfers due to dropped connections or interruptions. FTP Explorer fully supports resuming downloads allowing file transfers to pick up right where they left off after a disconnection, effectively eliminating the need to waste time on restarting file transfers.

Still wasting money and time burning CDs or DVDs every time you need to install some software? ASUSTOR NAS supports the mounting of ISO files which provides you with a cost effective and environmentally friendly solution that effectively lowers CD and DVD waste.

This significantly reduces the time and effort needed for installation. Are you a home user always searching for CDs whenever you need to install software? With ISO mounting you can store all your software on your NAS and then have it ready for you to install whenever you need it. Windows, Mac & Linux
ASUSTOR NAS devices provide seamless cross-platform file sharing, allowing you to easily connect to your NAS device no matter if you are using Windows, Mac OS, or Unix-like operating systems. The transfer protocols that you may use to connect to an ASUSTOR NAS device are as follows:
- Windows: CIFS/SMB, FTP and WebDAV
- Mac OS X: AFP, SMB, NFS, FTP and WebDAV
- Linux: NFS, SMB, FTP and WebDAV
Additionally, ASUSTOR NAS devices feature our Network Recycle Bin. Any files you delete will be moved to the Recycle Bin, allowing you to restore any accidentally deleted files. Transfer protocols supported by the Recycle Bin include: CIFS/SMB, AFP, FTP and File Explorer.
